FACE Program Exceeds Prekindergarten & Kindergarten
Readiness Goals for SY23-24
BIE’s Family and Child Education program is thrilled to announce outstanding results from the 2023-2024 school year! Both 3-4-year-olds and 4-5-year-olds participating in FACE exceeded expectations for prekindergarten and kindergarten readiness, as measured by the Teaching Strategies (TS) GOLD final assessment. This remarkable achievement showcases the program’s success in preparing young learners for future academic success.
Last year, FACE set a baseline goal of 70% for the students to meet or exceed expectations on the TS GOLD final assessment. The students surpassed the goal, demonstrating exceptional growth and exceeding expectations for their developmental stage. These results reflect the hard work of FACE students and the unwavering dedication of FACE educators and staff who provide high-quality early childhood education.
These achievements underscore the importance of data-driven teaching practices and early childhood education's critical role in setting a solid foundation for lifelong learning.
The FACE program’s success is about more than test scores. It’s about creating a lasting impact on children and their families. This year’s results highlight how the program strengthens learning at home and in the classroom:
89% of parents/caregivers said FACE prepared their child for school.
90% of parents/caregivers reported an increased interest in learning in their child.
85% of parents/caregivers noted an increased interest in reading in their child.
89% of parents/caregivers shared that FACE inspired them to become more involved as advocates in their child’s education.
The FACE program celebrates these milestones as a reflection of collective efforts of partnerships between FACE families, schools and communities to nurture, support, and inspire young learners to achieve their fullest potential. The FACE program creates opportunities for lifelong learning, one step at a time.
